Congratulations to Sarah Wood of Maroochydore who was the lucky winner of the Noosa Winter Festival sponsor pack, including a $200 Mizuno shoe voucher, Endura products, Eyeline bag & goggle pack, Adina watch and Australia Zoo family pass. Sarah competed in the Noosa Mizuno 10km Run at the Festival.  Thank you to everyone who completed the survey - your feedback will help us to improve and grow the Festival in 2011.

A flying Emma Snowsill took her anger out on the rest of the field to record a stunning victory in the ITU Elite Cup and pick up a US$200,000 winner’s cheque. The Queenslander, in just her second race back from injury, got into trouble early in the opening swim leg and was left stranded in a chase pack of riders to be a full minute down on the leaders going into the final 10km run. But she stormed through the field to catch the pacesetters before the 7km mark and went on to win by 16 seconds in a time of 1hr 59m 35s.

After re-opening entries at 9am on Tuesday 8 June to individuals for the Noosa Triathlon it reached capacity within hours and while there were many pleased successful entrants, equally there were a lot of disappointed competitors that missed out.  We do acknowledge that the process was very slow due to the measures we had to put in place to ensure that the system did not crash, and that we provided the fairest and most equitable chance for everyone to enter. While the system did not crash the demand was still overwhelming and slowed the processes.  Read full statement
